Don’t ignore what grows in you because of something that others want to plant in you

One of the most toxic things
you can do to yourself is to ignore
what grows in you
because of something that others want to plant in you.

Times require patience,
but you have not been given in vain what you are.

Do not tear your skin for others
to be easier to crawl under it.
Don’t kill what’s breathing inside you
to have someone steal your sighs to survive.
Inside you is the whole world that is being born
only when you nurture and guard it.
Many would defile your nature,
abduct the stars that illuminate
your universe.

When you open your chest and let go of anyone
be sure not to uproot
your essence, what you water yourself.
Not everyone will give you a handful of water,
and it’s up to you to recognize the poisons
to keep your nature intact.
When you spread with your own hands
ribs between which clouds fight
not to shatter into a billion pieces
remember how you fought
to find a place where
the sky will only be yours,
where your stars carry the weight of light
just to put out the darkness.

And when they finally look inside you
let them know that only you
decide who you give the flower to,
and to whom the stone to stumble
under your sky.
