If you see her, say hello to her

If you see her, say hello to her,
she left me last fall
in the park, on a bench
-I never thought to bring her back.
If she asks how I am, tell her I’m fine.
She might ask if I forgot her,
tell her I am, long time ago.

If you see her, say hello to her.
The love between us happened quickly,
as if we were just temporary lovers.
We used to see each other every day,
but we were hiding from ourselves.
We didn’t want to show weakness
and then weakness destroyed everything.

If you see her, say hello to her.
Approach her and hug her,
one last time for me.
But keep it short,
she doesn’t like long hugs
– they make her trapped.

If you see her, say hello to her.
But don’t take her time,
I tried that the night before the park
– but I failed.
I knew the end was coming soon.
But I was wrong,
the end visited us the next day.

If you see her, say hello to her.
Tell her you’re admiring her courage,
she just packed her suitcases and left everything.
Tell her she’s independent and can do anything.
If she smiles, tell her that was my intention
– turn around and smile.
